GFI Works with Cement Manufacturers
GFI utilizes materials recycled from othering manufacturing companies to provide recycled materials for portland cement manufacturers. Using recycled materials for cement manufacturing is a beneficial and safe way for waste generators to get rid of their by-products, establishing a long term alternative to land filling. GFI works with both generators and the cement manufacturers providing knowledge to help both sides reduce their costs while creating a closed-loop system for the waste stream.
GFI operates a diatomaceous earth mine that provides low-alkali, high silica ore for use as a raw material in the production of portland cement. Specially processed DE is used as a pozzolan ingredient in the production of high-sulfate resistant, Type 1-P cement.
GFI can work with Quality Control personnel to utilize our proprietary Cement Kiln Feed Model (CKFM). The CKFM is a sophisticated spreadsheet program that will select the most profitable raw mix from available raw materials.
