foundry sand recycling by processing spent foundry sand into a "Silica
Cement Ingredient." Using this "spent" foundry sand as an
ingredient in portland cement eliminates potential future liability for
the foundry as the sand is chemically and physically combined with
other ingredients in the cement kiln into complex silicates that
comprise "cement clinker."
